Resort Girls Stretch Like a Puppy to Melt Your Fuzz

September 18, 2015

Dogs do it and cats do it every morning…stretch that is, and humans need to do it too. One good reason to stretch is to keep your muscles in motion and another is to keep your skin smoother – those ripples you tend to see are too tight muscles. You need to get them moving and massaged or Resort Girls will get the fuzz!

“The what?!” you say? Why did this RG want to know about the buzz about this thing called the fuzz…to improve the looks of my skin? RGs of all ages want to look and feel their best, but should always try to do it naturally. Natural is so much healthier. Whenever this RG hears some new buzz about how to achieve this, she will certainly share with other RGs.

My chiropractor was the one who told me to learn about the fuzz by viewing a popular video. Let me warn you, it does have dead people parts in it, so not a good thing to view while eating dinner like this RG was. My chicken wing just looked a bit too much like someone’s arm.

Anyway, this is a fun and cute video by Dr. Gill Hedley to view and learn the buzz about your RG fuzz.

As he says in the video, every morning when you wake up and stretch… you melt your fuzz. Less fuzz has lead to smoother skin in this RGs case.

I know my little pooch Windsor would pop out of his little bed and do a big puppy stretch in front of the door every morning. Each and every day he stretched, even when he came out of his little doggie house after his nap.

So, we Resort Girls need to learn from our adorable best friends, our pets. Get down on the floor with your puppy or kitty cat and stretch away together! If not, recruit your BFF RG and get moving each AM with a quick walk, or yoga class before work and stretch — but always seek professional trainers before any new physical activity. As with any movement, there are proper stretches too. Yoga is a great way to learn some healthy moves and it has been where this RG has learned the best stretches for her body.

So share the buzz on fuzz… and keep stretching like your puppy!

Do Resort Girls Who Play Together Stay Together?

September 16, 2015

Are your BFF Resort Girls also your sporting buddies? This RG has a theory that women who play together stay together as lifelong friends. Kids grow up and careers change, but your sporting game generally stays the same with age.

Exercising and playing together is a lifelong pursuit. How did I come up with this personal RG deduction? Well, most of my lifelong friends are the ones this RG plays sports with – golf mainly, but we try others too. My newer RG friends are fellow tennis players and yogis, both of which are my newest sports obsessions.

TennismeganwithSam

The competition of the sports can often dilute the competition that sometimes infiltrates RG relationships, including lifelong friendships. A little friendly competition among Resort Girls is a good thing. It keeps a Resort Girl at the top of her game as well as keeping her RG body in shape, mind healthy, and helps build lasting relationships – all of which are priceless.

Exercise is always a good thing in stressful and emotional times, as it helps with the depression and anxiety that life may bring. Not to mention it’s always a good thing to whack that little golf ball or bouncy tennis ball to get any frustrations out! Take it out on the ball, not your family or friends.

Many times, Resort Girls being on the courts and course can provide an excellent networking opportunity. Resort girls bring other RGs and often times they soon become a good professional connection or even a new BFF RG!

Let us know if many of your BFFs are also playing partners. Resort Girls who play together stay together!

Resort Girls – Get a Club Level View of a Ball Game

September 4, 2015
FlagBallgame

Baseball lovin’ Resort Girls, try a club level view for your next game outing. This Resort girl did, and it ended up being a fun night vacay!

I loved playing softball in my elementary school days. The feel of the leather glove, the cool gray and red flannel cap, and the thrill of a strike out! At first, my position was pitcher, since I had good hand-eye coordination, but I kept ducking when that ball came at my face! They then put me on first base – as I could run fast and catch too.

Maybe that is why when my GA community clubhouse offered a trip on the Fox bus to attend an Atlanta Braves game, this Resort Girl put her money down. Ok, so the Fox bus broke down, but the replacement one was comfy and, as the only single gal, I took the small front seat behind the driver.

The ride was just over an hour, but there were no congestion headaches as our driver went one exit past all of the backed-up cars as he knew the best bus shortcuts. He dropped our group off right up at the front steps…a space reserved exclusively for buses.

We then went to the club level. It was a nice view for a first-timer club level visitor! It reminded me of a luxe hotel lobby and lounge. As we walked to our assigned seats, the aroma of the many different eating destinations caught my senses from Asian to, yes, the all-American hot dog!

The hallways were filled with comfy couches, historic photographs, plenty of clean powder rooms and many helpful hands to guide you to your ultimate club level seats. I did peek into a few sky level rooms and they looked really cool as well. This Resort Girl did an invite  to watch the game there, but wanted to go with my group and take the bus with its shortcuts instead!

Not only did I enjoy a great ball game, but the complementary buffet and free brews were delicious too.

The only downside to the evening was that there was a crash in front of us when we were on the way home. Fortunately, you can also get a quick nap on the bus when they shut down the interstate. We pulled in around 1PM! I had never slept on a bus before, but now I can add that to my list of Resort Girl adventures.

So, if someone ever asks to take you out to the ball game at club level… take the bus and enjoy!

Rev Your Engines

September 2, 2015
Rev Your Engines

Fast cars are not just for guys anymore; as more and more women are becoming fascinated by the thrill of revving engines — myself included.

My fascination started in childhood, as my grandfather was the number one Cadillac salesman in Miami for many years. He was, in fact, one of the first to provide us with many weekend pleasure trips in the latest and greatest El Dorado. Those beautiful tail wings are one of my first car design memories. Next came the high school years when my own driving just began. Oh, how I wanted that 280 ZX.

Nowadays, many resorts provide luxury and sports cars for their guests’ daily use. Some come with a fee and some are free, depending on the resort. In addition, car shows are becoming quite a big draw for many as well. This year at my resort, Palmetto Bluff, Audi sponsored a car showcase as part of the Music to Your Mouth series. So, I took a spin in one of their compact SUVs, as I was in the market for one. What an enjoyable experience to test drive vehicles in your own backyard and in the midst of nature’s beauty! The driving course went alongside our equestrian trails, where I could go off road here and there.

Upon returning the SUV, the Audi team offered me a spin in a hot red sports car. The thrill of cruising down the highways and byways in a sports car is one way for this resort girl to recharge, or just taking it for a spin to the park for a picnic.

Do fast cars fascinate and recharge you?

Rainbows Follow Resort Girls

August 26, 2015
RainbowHaig

Resort Girls follow their dreams — and thus are followed by rainbows.

To make a dream come true, one must possess many characteristics like courage, confidence, consistency, curiosity and caring. That is who Resort Girls are: spirits who want to make a positive change in this world. Those who believe life is made of rainbows, not dark clouds.

Not that dark clouds are not part of a RG’s life. It is more so that she looks for the rainbow that follows – and they, in turn, follow her. This picture was taken by a new RG friend of Haig Point after a big storm this Saturday. She was a very successful business owner who now spends her time traveling the world and enjoying her retirement. Yes, she is a solo Resort Girl, but that does not hold her back.

Being a RG means having the confidence and smarts to go it alone. This world is an unsafe place, but if you learn the ropes and learn from other RGs, traveling and exploring can be fun and safe. You must be careful, however! There are the confidence tricksters, a term I learned while traveling Asia.

This Resort Girl even learned a few more security tips on this trip. The best tip is if you are going solo, be sure to go to a place that has community – and know that other RGs have gone it alone. Family resorts are one of the best. Singles resorts…well, you know the rest of that statement!

I’ve always stayed at the Marriott on Windward Parkway whenever I’m in Atlanta. It could be considered a corporate and family weekend hotel. They have a great weekend rate, but most of all it is one of only a few American Girl hotels. Now that is a fun young RG concept – taking your doll on a vacation!

The crowd is generally either families or wedding events, a much safer environment for solo Resort Girls who just want to explore a new city.

MychairHT

Being at a deeded timeshare resort was a first for this RG. What appealed to me was that the crowd had been there for years. Many knew each other and the staff knew everyone. It made for a new place to meet other fun RGs, as well as providing a safer environment.

This Resort Girl will miss her morning coffee and breathtaking views from the rooftop deck – thinking about being a part of this community as I made many new RG friends, the staff was excellent, the rooms clean, and the views were amazing. I will always have a mental photo of my RG morning coffee memory – the sweet smell of the salty air mixed with the aroma of roasted coffee beans – that is an RG experience!

Resort Girls Walk Harbour Town

August 20, 2015
HTWaterview

Today this Resort Girl is taking all RGs on a walking tour of the historic Harbour Town in Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. For the past week, this RG has been waking up with her morning coffee and viewing this boldly striped lighthouse. I’ve been ending my evenings high up on a roof top with good cheer, new and old friends – and breathtaking views.

So let’s take a quick stroll to some of the beautiful views of historic Harbour Town.
